Job summary

Tekgo, Inc. seeks a Payroll Coordinator in Birmingham, AL to support weekly payroll processing, maintain records, and respond to payroll inquiries.

You will collaborate with the Operations Support Coordinator, managers, and staff to ensure accurate and timely wage payments while staying compliant with laws. Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented, with at least two years of payroll experience in a multi-state environment and strong Excel/payroll reporting skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
• Ability to process wages, taxes, deductions, and garnishments accurately.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll data accurately and timely for weekly payroll cycles.
• Review and verify employee time records, attendance records, and payroll changes.
• Enter and maintain payroll-related information, including new hires, terminations, wage adjustments, deductions, and direct deposit information.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and payroll procedures.
• Assist with payroll audits and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, taxes, timekeeping, and payroll-related issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and personal information.
• Prepare payroll reports for management, accounting, and regulatory purposes.
• Coordinate with PEO regarding employee status changes and benefit deductions.
• Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and payroll reconciliations.
• Maintain organized payroll records and documentation.
• Support payroll system updates, testing, and process improvements.
