Job summary

Stearns County is seeking a Payroll Technician in St. Cloud to manage biweekly payrolls across departments in accordance with union contracts. You will audit timesheets and deductions, prepare tax deposits, and generate reports for budget and audits.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in accounting/payroll or 7 years, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office and Workday HCM. This is a full-time, on-site position in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Two years of post-secondary formal preparation/training/education and three years of accounting or payroll experience OR seven years of accounting or payroll experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll for multiple departments in compliance with union contracts and policies.
• Audit timesheets, deductions, and benefits for accuracy and timely payment.
• Prepare and audit tax deposits and regulatory reports.
• Process real estate tax payments and vendor payments for payroll deductions.
• Maintain and audit personnel files and payroll records.
