Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Payroll Clerk to support data entry, processing payroll information, and departmental operations under supervision. You will handle high-volume inquiries, verify entries, and assist with timekeeping and payroll distribution.

The role requires basic payroll knowledge, strong customer service, attention to detail, and good communication skills; prior payroll experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service acumen and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented with planning and organizational skills.
• Computer skills to access, enter, and interpret data.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answers high volume of telephone inquiries from employees, departments and vendors; routes calls as needed.
• Completes data entry from payroll forms, time sheets, and production records to the payroll system.
• Ensures accuracy of entries including names, days worked, overtime, gross pay, deductions, and net earnings.
• Computes withholdings and deductions for multi-state tax laws and other payments.
• Prepares payroll for distribution and processes requisitions and reimbursements.
• Maintains office supplies and sorts incoming mail.
