Job summary

National Material L.P. is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage full-cycle payroll across multiple states and entities, including union populations. You will administer benefits enrollments, deductions, open enrollment, and leave programs while ensuring compliance and accurate records.

The role partners with HR, Finance, and vendors to resolve issues, perform reconciliations, and support year-end activities. Strong Dayforce and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on, full-cycle payroll processing in a complex organization.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll across entities, pay groups, locations.
• Direct experience with union payroll and applying collective bargaining provisions.
• Experience administering garnishments and withholding orders.
• Experience supporting benefits enrollment, reconciliations, and inquiries.
• Experience administering FMLA, disability, and other leave programs.
• Experience with Dayforce or similar HRIS/payroll system.
• Strong Excel skills for organizing and analyzing payroll data.
• Detail-oriented with ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on time across states and entities.
• Review time data, earnings, overtime, bonuses, deductions, taxes, and direct deposits.
• Administer garnishments and withholding orders from start to finish.
• Apply union pay provisions and company wage practices per collective bargaining agreements.
• Prepare pre- and post-processing audits, reconciliations, and variance reviews.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies and resolve tax or pay issues.
• Process changes for new hires, transfers, raises, leaves, and terminations.
• Maintain payroll records and support quarter- and year-end activities.
• Support benefits enrollment, deductions, open enrollment, and vendor inquiries.
• Administer leave programs including FMLA and disability with tracking and return-to-work coordination.
