Job summary

Chapa-De Indian Health is seeking a Payroll/Benefits Coordinator to grow their payroll expertise while supporting HR and accounting tasks. The role emphasizes accuracy, problem-solving, and customer service in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates have payroll/benefits experience, strong Excel skills, and are prepared to work in a hybrid setup with remote options after a 6-month introductory period.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll, benefits, HR, accounting, or related field.
• Experience reviewing timesheets, deductions, and payroll changes.
• Knowledge of payroll practices, deductions, taxes, and wage & hour rules.
• Experience with HRIS or payroll systems; UKG Ready is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office; ability to analyze data.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Self-motivated with organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication with a customer-service mindset.

• Support payroll and benefits administration and related records.
• Review timesheets, employee changes, deductions, and benefits for accuracy.

Hourly Pay: $34.00-$39.00

Benefit Highlights

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

• Previous experience in payroll, benefits, human resources, accounting, or a related function, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience reviewing timesheets, employee changes, deductions, benefits, or other payroll-related transactions.
• Working knowledge of payroll practices, deductions, taxes, and wage and hour requirements, with an interest in continuing to build payroll expertise.
• Experience working with an HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, or similar business system; UKG Ready experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, with the ability to organize, review, and analyze detailed information.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and work through solutions.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset and the ability to build positive working relationships throughout the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting payroll processing and/or employee benefits administration.
• Experience with payroll taxes, reconciliations, reporting, or general ledger processes.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Payroll-related training, coursework, or certification is a plus.
