La Salle Academy in Providence, RI seeks a Payroll & Benefits Manager to oversee accurate, compliant payroll and employee benefits. Reporting to the Controller, this role ensures HRIS integrity, tax withholdings, retirement plan administration, and benefits workflows.

The candidate will deliver precise financial data and high-touch service to faculty and staff. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or HR preferred.
• 3–5 years payroll and benefits administration experience.
• Independent school or non-profit experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute end-to-end processing of bi-weekly, seasonal, and stipended payrolls for all staff.
• Maintain accuracy of employee records, compensation rates, tax deductions, and direct deposits in the payroll system.
• Audit time cards, leave requests, and PTO allocations; reconcile payroll registers.
• Lead Open Enrollment and benefits billing reconciliation with vendors.
• Ensure compliance with tax filings and regulatory reporting.
