Job summary

Tri-City Group in Davenport, IA is seeking a Payroll Assistant to support timely and accurate payroll processing for our employees.

You will collect timesheets, enter data into payroll systems, calculate wages and deductions, maintain confidential records, and assist with HR tasks including onboarding and year-end reporting. A detail-oriented approach and proficiency with Excel and payroll software are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; accounting/finance degree preferred.
• 3–5 years payroll experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and payroll software.

Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: Assist with weekly payroll duties, including data entry, calculation of overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
• Verification: Review timesheets and attendance records for accuracy.
• Employee Support: Serve as the primary contact for payroll-related questions and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Reporting: Assist in generating payroll reports and help prepare for audits or year-end tax filings.
