Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC in North Bergen, NJ is seeking a Payroll Assistant to join our on-site team. Work 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm, fully on site, supporting multiple project sites and foremen with timekeeping and payroll data.

You will collect and review timesheets, enter data, assist with union payroll adjustments, and help resolve discrepancies. This hands-on role offers exposure to large employee populations and complex timekeeping processes on a multi-project basis.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll, timekeeping, or payroll support preferred.
• Ability to review high volumes of data and maintain accuracy.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and payroll/timekeeping systems.
• Proactive communication via phone and email.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and review employee timesheets from multiple foremen and project sites.
• Enter and verify timekeeping data from both electronic and paper-based records.
• Assist with union payroll adjustments, including holiday pay and other contract-specific earnings.
• Track employee hours across multiple projects to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• Coordinate with field teams and payroll personnel to resolve discrepancies and missing information.

Target Compensation: $30-37 per hour commensurate with experience
