Job summary

Children's Habilitation Center seeks a Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist to process payroll and weekly AP, while supporting the Controller and CEO. The role requires highly organized, confidential handling of sensitive information and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.

You will collaborate with HR and leadership, respond to employee questions, and assist with payroll-related tax reporting.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of payroll and/or accounting experience.
• Experience with an automated payroll system.
• Strong spreadsheet and reporting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve problems.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with HR, leadership, employees, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and timely.
• Run payroll reports and audits for accuracy.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and verify timekeeping.
• Manage time off accruals and benefits deductions.
• Respond to employee payroll questions and provide timely support.
• Prepare year-end payroll tax reporting (W-2s, 1099s).
• Process Accounts Payable and reconcile invoices to POs.
• Maintain vendor accounts and banking deposits.
• Assist with budgeting and accounting projects.
• Provide office and front-desk support as needed.
