Job summary

Denver Seminary is seeking a Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist to handle full-cycle payroll and AP in a flexible location. The role partners with the Director of Financial Services/Controller and affects the financial operations of a multi-state staff, including housing allowances and stipends.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in payroll/accounts payable, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with nonprofit financial practices.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of progressive payroll, accounts payable, or accounting experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle semi-monthly payroll for employees across multiple states.
• Reconcile payroll results to general ledger and supporting docs.
• Handle accounts payable processing including invoices, coding, and approvals.
• Maintain vendor records and payroll/tax documentation.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for payroll liabilities and related accounts.
