Job summary

The University of Denver is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll processing in a timely manner. You will work with the ERP and timekeeping systems to pay employees in compliance with federal and state laws, and handle tax withholdings and benefits deductions.

Responsibilities include processing off-cycle payrolls, maintaining documentation, and supporting W-2 issuance, while adhering to university policies.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of full-time payroll experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in finance, accounting, business administration or similar.
• Experience with UKG Workforce Management Pro and Banner Payroll preferred.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) by APA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process the university’s bi-weekly payroll per established procedures.
• Handle off-cycle payroll requests accurately and timely.
• Ensure correct tax withholdings per federal, state and local laws.
• Maintain supporting payroll documentation.
• Assist with regulatory issues and fringe benefits considerations.
• Coordinate with HR for benefit and deduction setup and retirements processing.
• Calculate adjustments per established pay rules.
• Support issuance of W-2 forms.
