Job summary

Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Payroll / Accounts Payable Disbursement Specialist to ensure accurate, timely disbursement of payroll and AP payments to employees, vendors, and other payees.

This role supports payroll and AP operations by coordinating payment processing, maintaining disbursement controls, reconciling transactions, administering garnishments and ACH processes, resolving issues, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration; 5–7 years of payroll/AP and vendor disbursement experience.
• Payroll FPC certification or IOFM certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with printing and assigning payroll correction forms.
• Monitor payroll mailbox and assist with distributing mail to payroll specialist as needed.
• Assist with auditing timecards and payroll reports for compliance with policy.
• Assist with weekly payroll/vendor disbursements payments (checks, ACH, pay card).
• Serve as back-up to process bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll as needed.
• Verify signing of paychecks, maintain log, review payroll system reports, deliver checks to Mail Room.
• Respond to inquiries for salary information and garnishments.
• Manage weekly special handling and garnishment payments.
• Assist Director of Disbursements with budget management and procurement of supplies.
