Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division is seeking a Payroll Analyst to manage bi-weekly payroll processes, analyze data for accuracy, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role involves collaborating with management on time reporting, deductions, and pay practices.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of payroll experience, a relevant bachelor's degree, and proficiency in payroll software, Word, and Excel.

Competenze

• 2 to 4 years of experience in payroll techniques and practices.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field is required.
• Must have skills in computer software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet packages and payroll software applications.

Mansioni

• Review payroll processes and ensure accuracy and compliance with Division policies and federal/state regulations for garnishments and pay calculations.
• Prepare and analyze data for reports on bi-weekly payroll changes, including earnings, deductions, pre-tax deductions and supplemental earnings.
• Consult with management on time reporting, benefit balances, overtime, extended pay, stand by pay and call out pay.
• Develop and flowchart payroll processes; write business requirements and test scripts; identify formulas; and perform gap analysis for upgrades of payroll applications.
• Perform special studies on payroll operations and propose changes based on best practices of the American Payroll Association.
• Prepare and defend information for internal/external auditors.
• Operate Division software and payroll computer systems; support data integrity and accuracy.
