Job summary

The City of Maypearl is seeking a Payroll Specialist to perform professional level payroll processing with significant independent judgment. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field with 2 years of hands‑on payroll processing preferred
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field with 4 years’ hands‑on payroll processing preferred
• High School graduation with 6 years’ payroll, accounting, and/or bookkeeping experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll timesheets and records accurately and timely
• Review reports, balance sheets, invoices, purchase orders, etc.
• Produce connective reports and identify discrepancies
• Communicate payroll questions with internal and external customers
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and city policies
