Job summary

The State of Colorado is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to oversee payroll and timekeeping for a large statewide operation. You will ensure accurate payments, tax withholdings, and third-party disbursements while maintaining compliance with GAAP and agency policies.

You will supervise three staffers, provide guidance, reviews, and training, and act as a back-up to the Payroll Manager as needed. Experience in public sector payroll is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, payroll.
• Certification as a CPA is preferred and may count toward experience.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll and timekeeping for multiple programs, ensuring timely and accurate payments and deductions.
• Review reconciliations, approvals, and batch processing; manage exceptions and audits.
• Supervise payroll staff, train and assign duties, monitor performance and compliance.
