Job summary

State of Colorado’s Department of Human Services seeks a Payroll Supervisor to lead the Payroll and Timekeeping Unit. You will supervise three FTE Payroll/Timekeeping staff, ensure accurate and timely payroll, and maintain deductions, taxes, and reporting for 5,500+ employees statewide.

Responsibilities include reviewing reconciliations, guiding staff, and ensuring operational integrity of automated systems.

Qualifications

• Six years of relevant experience in accounting, finance or payroll.
• Experience supervising payroll/timekeeping staff is preferred.
• Current CPA licensure counts toward the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Supervise payroll/timekeeping staff and assign tasks to ensure accurate payments.
• Approve and reconcile payroll transactions and manual pay items.
• Ensure accurate deductions, tax reporting, and third-party payments.
