Job summary

Pueblo County is seeking a Payroll Administrator to manage and optimize all payroll activities, ensuring accurate processing and timely reporting. The role supports the Payroll Manager, handles audits, and trains department staff while maintaining compliance and customer service standards.

The position offers remote and hybrid working opportunities along with a comprehensive benefits package and retirement program. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Workday are preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree with 3+ years of progressive payroll processing experience.
• Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of progressive payroll processing experience.
• Associate's Degree with 7+ years of progressive payroll processing experience.
• High School Diploma/GED with 9+ years of progressive payroll processing experience.
• Recent experience using the Workday system for timekeeping and payroll.

Responsibilities

• Administers payroll activities and prepares payroll cycles for the department.
• Audits payroll data, responds to payroll-related questions, and trains staff.
• Backups Payroll Manager and assists with general ledger and budget items.
• Reviews payroll data accuracy, processes direct deposits, and transmits paychecks.
• Oversees payroll changes, W-4s, garnishments, and withholdings; ensures deadlines.
