Job summary

Stoke Space is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator / Accounting Specialist to manage bi-weekly, multi-state payroll while supporting transactional accounting activities across AP and AR. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, strong payroll controls, and assists with vendor maintenance and invoicing.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, handles confidential financial data, and can manage multiple deadlines with precision and integrity.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–6 years of payroll administration or accounting operations experience.
• Experience with payroll taxes and wage/hour compliance.
• Experience with Rippling or similar payroll/HRIS platform preferred.
• Experience with AP/AR processes and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll through Rippling accurately and on time.
• Review timecards and payroll changes prior to payroll runs.
• Review payroll reports and resolve discrepancies before finalization.
• Support payroll tax filings, quarter and year-end reporting, and W-2 processing.
• Monitor wage/hour compliance and perform GL reconciliations.
• Maintain payroll documentation and assist with audits; support AP/AR activities.
