Job summary

StanCorp Financial Group is seeking a Payroll and Accounting Analyst to ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing and payroll tax administration across the organization. You will partner with HR, Benefits, and Finance to resolve inquiries and maintain data integrity.

The role requires 6 years of payroll experience, multi-state expertise, and proficiency with ERP systems and Excel. Occasional travel is required, with a focus on delivering timely and auditable payroll results.

Qualifications

• 6 years of payroll experience across a multi-state workforce
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax compliance (federal/state/local)
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, and payroll-related accounting support
• Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws and payroll regulations
• Experience using large ERP/payroll systems to process payroll and support testing

Responsibilities

• Analyze and audit payroll data for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Perform payroll reconciliations and balancing for earnings, deductions, and taxes
• Research complex payroll and payroll tax issues and support year-end activities
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance, HRIS, and vendors to resolve inquiries and maintain data integrity
• Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen payroll controls
