Job summary

HireLogic Search Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to own the full payroll cycle for employees across locations. You will ensure accurate, timely payroll while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, requiring strong attention to detail and systems expertise.

This leadership role calls for the ability to lead a team, review reports, partner with HR and Finance, manage audits, and oversee third-party providers to ensure precise compensation and tax

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field.
• 5+ years of payroll management experience in multi-state or large-scale org.
• Proficiency in payroll systems, Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations
• Process new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and benefit deductions
• Review and reconcile payroll reports for accuracy in earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits
• Partner with HR and Finance on employee classification and payroll funding
• Administer payroll tax filings with the IRS and state agencies
• Lead payroll audits, reporting, and year-end processing, including W-2 and 1099 preparation
• Manage third-party payroll providers and vendors
• Resolve employee payroll inquiries and discrepancies promptly

Requirements

• 5+ years of payroll management experience, preferably in a multi-state or large-scale organization
• Proficiency in payroll systems, Excel, and accounting software
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and wage and hour laws
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Multi-state payroll compliance and year-end tax reporting experience at scale
• Background in distribution, manufacturing, or a similar multi-location environment
