Job summary

Banc of California is seeking an Officer, Relationship Manager - Payments to drive merchant services opportunities with small and mid-sized businesses in Southern California. You will manage a portfolio, pursue referrals, evaluate payment solutions, and work with Operations, Product, Technology, Risk, and other partners to implement and support client needs.

The role demands a proactive sales approach, strong relationship-building, and the ability to close opportunities while meeting production

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in payments, merchant services, treasury management, banking, or related business development roles.
• Working knowledge of payment processing, card acquiring, merchant services solutions, and the merchant client lifecycle.
• Demonstrated ability to generate new business, conduct sales calls, and develop client and referral relationships.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by selling payment processing and acquiring services to SMB clients and prospects.
• Develop new payment and acquiring relationships and deepen existing client relationships.
• Build and maintain internal and external referral networks to generate new business opportunities.
• Independently manage an assigned sales pipeline and portfolio and achieve production goals.
• Lead client presentations, product demonstrations, and consultative sales discussions.
• Coordinate setup and implementation and provide training to new and existing clients on payment products, systems, and services.
