Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support financial operations within a risk management environment, focusing on payments for crew on medical leave, reimbursements, and core accounting activities. The role involves extensive Excel work, data reconciliation, and preparing journal entries.

Based in Miami, FL, the contract position is approximately six months with a blended onsite/remote schedule (four days onsite, Friday remote).

Qualifications

2+ years of financial, accounting, or analytical experience preferred.
Strong Excel skills with lookups, formulas, calculations, and data handling.
Experience preparing or supporting journal entries and core accounting processes.
Ability to perform financial analysis, research discrepancies, and correct payment issues.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle financially sensitive data.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Manage and support recurring medical-leave pay processes with accurate payments.
Process and reconcile employee medical-expense reimbursements with audit-ready records.
Research payment discrepancies and drive issues to resolution.
Perform detailed Excel calculations, lookups, and reconciliations.
Prepare and support journal entries in line with policies.
Assist with uploads into financial systems and proper data formatting.
Analyze financial information and share insights with stakeholders.
Support ad hoc financial analyses and cross-functional projects.
Maintain data integrity across financial transactions.
