Job summary

Tereina in San Francisco is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Payment Team to own the end-to-end payment flow services from initiation to settlement, ensuring reliability and traceability across all steps.

You will expand money movement by integrating with banks and partners, build orchestration tooling, and lead a high-performing distributed engineering team while collaborating with Product, Compliance, and Operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering; at least 3 years in technical leadership.
• Deep understanding of commercial payments and money movement across rails such as ACH, wires, SWIFT, or real-time payments.
• Experience building and operating integrations with banks, payment processors, or financial partners.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and evolution of the payment flow from initiation through reconciliation.
• Lead integrations with banking partners, payment networks, and fintech partners.
• Build tooling to orchestrate and operate the payment flow including routing, retries, and status visibility.
• Own the architecture of payment services and ensure reliability, security, and compliance.
