Job summary

Tereina seeks an Engineering Manager – Payment Team to lead engineers responsible for end-to-end payment flow, from initiation to reconciliation, ensuring accuracy, idempotency, and traceability.

You will expand money flow by integrating with banks, networks, and partners, partner with Product, Architecture, Compliance, and Operations to translate requirements into a practical technical roadmap while growing a distributed team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• Deep payments knowledge: money movement, settlements, reconciliation.
• Experience with banks, processors, and ISO 20022 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Payment Flow Ownership: design, develop, and evolve the payment flow end-to-end.
• Bank & Partner Integrations: lead integrations with banks and networks.
• Orchestration & Tooling: build tooling for routing, retries, and visibility.
• Technical Leadership: own architecture and contracts with Platform and SAP.
• Hands-on Engineering: contribute code, review, and architecture.
• Team Management: hire, grow, and mentor engineers across time zones.
• Operational Excellence: production health, incidents, and improvements.
• Collaboration & Execution: align with Product, UX, Compliance, and Operations.
