Job summary
Rec is seeking a Platform Leader to guide a 4–6 engineer team focused on Infrastructure, Payments & Finance, and DevEx/QA. You will set the technical bar, review code, and mentor engineers while partnering with Product to shape the Platform roadmap.
You will be responsible for hiring, coaching, and delivering reliable systems at scale, including payments flow and database growth. AI fluency is a must. Based in San Francisco, this role offers a hands-on leadership path.
Qualifications
- 5+ years as a software engineer, including 4+ years managing engineering teams.
- Demonstrated AI fluency and ability to apply it to platform development.
- Ability to translate business goals into technical plans and roadmaps.
- Experience hiring engineers and building effective teams.
- Strong emphasis on code quality, reliability, and rigorous review processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead a 4–6 person Platform team across Infrastructure, Payments & Finance, and DevEx/QA.
- Set technical direction, review code, triage bugs, and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Partner with Product to shape the Platform roadmap and drive sprint execution.
- Own launch readiness for major Platform releases with load testing and capacity planning.
