Job summary

Gusto is seeking a Payment Operations Analyst to own end-to-end payment workflows, resolve exceptions with sound judgment, and improve reliability and efficiency across our growing money movement surface. You will work with Engineering, Product, Accounting, Risk, and CX, shaping requirements and driving launches with a mindset to use AI as a core productivity tool.

You will triage issues, escalate when needed, and partner with banks and payment partners to ensure timely resolution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in payment operations, banking operations, treasury operations, or fintech payments.
• Working knowledge of domestic rails (ACH/Nacha, wires) and international money movement is a plus.
• Strong analytical instincts with ability to query/structure data; SQL a plus.
• Excellent communication with both non-technical and technical partners.
• Willingness to own issues end-to-end in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payment workflows and resolve exceptions.
• Investigate outages affecting thousands of users and coordinate response.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Accounting, Risk, and CX.
• Improve system reliability and efficiency over time.
• Contribute to product specs and define requirements for launches.
• Drive root-cause analysis and implement fixes.
