Gusto is hiring a Payment Operations Analyst to own end-to-end payment workflows across payroll and money movement. You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Product, Accounting, Risk and CX to resolve exceptions, improve systems, and ensure timely vendor and customer payments.

This role emphasizes data-driven decision making, auditable processes, and AI-enabled productivity across domestic and international rails.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in payment operations or related fintech role.
• Knowledge of domestic and international payment rails.
• Strong data querying ability; SQL is a plus.
• Experience with bank portals, payment processors, or reconciliation tools.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to embrace AI in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payment workflows including ACH processing, refunds, collections, and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Accounting, Risk and CX to improve systems.
• Investigate issues, escalate when needed, and drive root-cause fixes.
• Engage with banks and partners domestically and internationally.
• Use AI to accelerate analysis and communications.
• Balance speed with accuracy to maintain reliable payments.
