Job summary

Gusto is seeking a Payment Operations Manager in New York to lead and grow a team responsible for end-to-end payment rails including ACH, wires, RTP, and international payments. You will manage partner relationships, ensure compliance programs, and drive incident response with cross-functional partners.

You will partner with Engineering, Product, Accounting, Risk, Legal, and CX, bringing operational insights into product discussions while elevating AI-powered efficiency across the team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in payment operations, banking operations, or treasury operations.
• 2+ years directly managing a team
• Deep working knowledge of domestic payment rails (ACH/Nacha, wires, RTP) and international movement is a plus
• Experience managing bank/payment partner relationships including escalations and reviews
• Experience with a compliance program including audits and controls

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Payment Operations team, set SLAs, and drive data-driven improvements
• Own day-to-day bank and payment partner operations and escalation handling
• Operate and monitor Nacha, unclaimed property, and bank compliance programs
• Drive incident response for payment operations and ensure effective retros
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to represent operational needs
