Job summary

First Tech Federal Credit Union in Marlborough, MA, is seeking a Payments Operations Lead to oversee daily processing activities across transfers, deposits, and settlements. You will provide frontline guidance to the team, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and uphold internal controls and regulatory requirements.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will collaborate with accounting, risk, and operations to resolve issues, train staff, and implement efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years of relevant experience; leadership experience not required but preferred.
• Experience in payment services, banking operations, or high-volume processing.
• Ability to guide or provide informal leadership in a team.
• Working knowledge of payment processing concepts, controls, and compliance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective problem-solving for operational issues.
• Strong communication with team and internal partners.
• Hands-on operational work while supporting team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day payment processing operations across transfers, deposits, settlements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide frontline guidance and oversight to team members, prioritizing work and maintaining service levels.
• Review and assist with handling of exceptions, high-value transactions, and escalations.
• Monitor activity and queues, identify issues, and escalate as needed.
• Reinforce adherence to policies, procedures, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with training, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate processing, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
• Support maintenance and improvement of procedures, workflows, and documentation.
• Track basic operational metrics and contribute to reporting on volumes and trends.
• Participate in testing, process updates, or system changes affecting payment operations.
• Maintain awareness of payment products, systems, and regulatory requirements.
