Job summary

Wolverine State Credit Union is seeking a Payment Specialist to manage daily payment operations, ACH processing, and card services. The role balances transactions, maintains records, and provides member support while adhering to policies and regulations.

The position covers investigations of card and wire activity, fraud reviews, and ledger reconciliation. Related experience in banking/credit unions and knowledge of ACH, OFAC, and BSA are advantageous for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or specialized training preferred.
• Two years of credit union or banking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ACH, wires, card services, and BSA responsibilities is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Process ACH activity, including exceptions, settlements, and ledger entries.
• Process ACH origination activities per procedures and controls.
• Handle check returns, NSF exceptions, settlements, and adjustments.
• Review and post settlements and ledger entries for CO-OP, FIS, Visa, and others.
• Process incoming/outgoing wires and maintain logs; complete OFAC requirements.
• Process accounts payable and corporate Visa transactions.
• Balance general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Process RDC enrollments, check reviews, and adjustments.
• Handle ATM, debit, and Visa card requests and maintain card inventory.
• Troubleshoot card/ATM issues and assist members with questions.
• Process card fraud and disputes with member contact and documentation.
• Complete processing, tracking, and reporting for ACH, wire, check, and fraud cases.
• Process ATM check deposit files and related adjustments.
• Maintain card programs including rewards and notifications.
• Perform off-site ATM servicing as assigned.
• Complete BSA assessments and related duties.
• Maintain reports, logs, and documentation accurately.
• Stay informed on regulations, CU policies, products, and payment systems.
