Job summary

Pentasia is seeking a Payments Manager for its New Jersey client in regulated online gaming. You will lead day-to-day payment operations, strengthen fraud prevention, and coordinate AML and regulatory reporting with Finance, Compliance, Operations, and IT.

Responsibilities include overseeing withdrawals and refunds, optimizing review processes, and guiding reconciliations and reporting. Strong analytical skills and NJ residency are required, with licensing support provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 2+ years in payments, fraud, AML, risk, or related analytics.
• 1+ year in iGaming.
• Knowledge of payment operations, fraud controls, chargebacks, KYC, and regulated reporting.
• Understanding of financial reconciliation and automated reconciliation/reporting processes.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• New Jersey residency and work location.
• Ability to obtain NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement licenses and approvals

About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing digital entertainment company preparing to expand its regulated online gaming operations in New Jersey. We are seeking a hands-on Payments Manager to lead payment operations, fraud and risk controls, and oversight of automated reconciliation and reporting.

What You'll Be Doing

As Payments Manager, you will oversee day-to-day payment operations while strengthening fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, and transaction performance. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Compliance, Operations, Customer Support, Product, and IT.

• Overseeing customer withdrawals, refunds, manual transactions, bank wire deposits, and related approval processes
• Monitoring and optimizing automated and manual payment review processes for accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
• Partnering with Finance to oversee automated reconciliation, reporting, and daily payment requirements
• Analyzing transaction performance, chargebacks, fraud trends, and customer payment behavior to identify risks and improvement opportunities
• Configuring and refining fraud rules and payment checks to improve approval rates while minimizing losses
• Investigating customer activity, managing chargebacks, and gathering evidence through case resolution
• Coordinating with Compliance on AML reviews and required regulatory reporting
• Overseeing KYC workflows and ensuring customer verifications are completed accurately
• Collaborating with Product and IT to test and improve payment flows, automated controls, and fraud-detection tools
• Supporting customer-facing teams with complex payment inquiries and escalations
• Producing clear internal reporting on payment gateways, chargebacks, fraud, and key operational metrics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
• 2+ years of experience in payments, fraud, AML, risk, or a related analytical role
• 1+ year of experience in iGaming
• Knowledge of payment operations, fraud controls, chargebacks, KYC, and regulated reporting
• Understanding of financial reconciliation and automated reconciliation and reporting processes
• Strong analytical, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
