Job summary

The New York City Department of Correction is seeking a Payments Analyst to join the Budget / Finance Division. This role processes payments for invoices from vendors serving the Department and reports to the Division Director. You will manage several vendors and ensure timely, accurate payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and three years of full-time clerical/administrative experience, 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
• Associate degree or 60 credits and four years of full-time clerical/administrative experience, including 1 year supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent and five years of full-time clerical/administrative experience, including 1 year supervisory experience.
• Education/experience equivalent to 1–3 above, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience; higher education substituted for clerical work at 30 credits per 6 months up to 3.5 years.

Responsibilities

• Verifying invoices for accuracy against purchase orders.
• Creating and approving payment vouchers for reimbursement.
• Developing tracking mechanisms for data, documents, and production.
• Identify and collect documents and materials requested by agency.
• Review documents to ensure they respond to the request.
• Communicate through electronic and written correspondence.
• Assist with preparation of presentation materials and reports.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Perform general office functions and related duties.
