Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) is seeking a Pavements Technician to support the pavements division with field and laboratory quality control testing of soils under close supervision. The role involves following QA/QC procedures and ASTM/ASIC/ACI standards to ensure high-quality, safe testing services for infrastructure projects.

Key tasks include laboratory testing, GPR and FWD operation, geoprobe sampling, field coring, and report generation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-year vocational or college degree preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities; ability to work independently in the field.
• Capable of physical labor including hazardous environments with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing of construction materials.
• Operate GPR and FWD equipment.
• Complete Geoprobe sampling and field sampling (coring and auger borings).
• Prepare test reports and site observations.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients and contractors.
• Maintain safety and QA procedures on site and in lab.
