Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Visitor Screening Ambassador to serve patients, families, and visitors. You will greet guests, provide information about services, assist with visitor management, and support patient security and confidentiality.

The role is non-exempt with a schedule including weekdays and weekends, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., totaling 24 hours per week. The hiring range is $19.74–$26.96 per hour, with a potential signing bonus discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Phone and computer skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Familiarity with basic medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Act as the customer service informational resource for patients, families and visitors as they enter the hospital.
• Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously and provide accurate information about services.
• Assist with visitor management, document data, and track visitor location.
• Provide basic patient status information, visiting times and procedures to patients and visitors.
• Support patient security and confidentiality procedures.
• Assist with escorting patients and visitors and arranging transportation as needed.
• Distribute PPE to employees, patients and visitors.
