Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of related customer service experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Teletracking and Spectra telephones.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong organizational skills.
• Sound math, counting and analytical skills.
• Ability to move quickly throughout the hospital on STAT calls.
• Friendly, positive, and professional when interacting with patients.
• Ability to assist patients of all ages including children and geriatric.
• Basic computer skills for dispatching and 2-way radio communications.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients, family and visitors in navigating throughout the campus.
• Navigate patients efficiently and safely throughout the campus.
• Transfer patients from one surface or location to another.
• Assist patients in walking, sitting up and moving between devices.
• Push and pull beds, stretchers, wheelchairs and rental beds across surfaces.
• Lift and handle medical equipment including IV poles and oxygen tanks.
• Know unit locations, procedures areas and Bronson policies.
• Contact nursing and support staff for information and assistance.
• Use patient transport tracking system and P.E.M. phone system.
• Document activities in log book and maintain customer service standards.
• Explain activities to patients and families.
• Release bodies to funeral home directors and prepare for viewing.
