Job summary

Beacon Health System in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a part-time Patient Transport Technician for evening shifts (1:30 PM–10:00 PM), 24 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday rotation. You will safely move patients between care areas, assist with supplies, and support the nursing team to ensure patient comfort and safety.

This role emphasizes proper body mechanics, infection control, and dependable attendance. Training is provided; CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must maintain CPR certification.
• Experience in acute facility or ambulatory surgery center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients between care areas using proper body mechanics.
• Prepares carts and beds for post-op transfers.
• Transports specimens to lab or other departments as needed.
• Assists in positioning patients on transport equipment and with transfers.
• Maintains patient comfort, warmth and safety during transport.
• Supports nursing staff with procedures and supplies as directed.
