Job summary

BETH ISRAEL LAHEY HEALTH in United States (Plymouth, MN area) is hiring for patient transport roles with a 40 HPW evening shift (12p-8:30p and 4p-12:30p with rotating weekends/holidays). Duties include transporting patients, documenting trips, and coordinating with nurses to ensure safe departures.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and CPR/BLS. The role is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, with hourly pay range $17.69–$27.44.

Qualifications

• On the job training.
• Basic computer experience required
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Document patient trip via Hospital Throughput computer program.
• Transport patients to/from care areas and assist with getting to/from vehicle.
• Communicate with patient regarding pending departure.
• Move patients and assist with bed/wheelchair/stretcher transitions.
• Transport equipment and access Hospital Throughput on mobile device.
• Assist patients with dressing/undressing as required.
• Obtain a 'Ticket to Ride' from nurse and secure nurse signature before departure.
• Coordinate with RN before patient departs from their room.
• Park bed/stretcher/wheelchair safely and lower as needed.
• Communicate arrival and hand off to receiving department with signed ticket.
• Ensure patient safety if department is not ready for testing or other needs.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment after each trip.
• Report equipment issues to Manager and create BioMed service requests
