Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital is seeking a Transport Coordinator to facilitate medical transport for multiple facilities. You will dispatch assets, coordinate third‑party vendors, and document patient information to ensure timely, compliant movement.

The role requires strong communication, ability to multitask, and the use of various computer systems in a fast-paced PLC environment. Team collaboration and handling escalations are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• EMT certification preferred where available.
• Able to use multiple computer programs simultaneously.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Receive medical transportation requests and coordinate transport through third‑party vendors and dispatch assets.
• Use technology tools to document patient information, dispatch assets, and monitor transport progress.
• Respond to calls with urgency and provide strong customer service.
• Maintain EMTALA education to prevent and identify risk.
• Know facility staff, services, and specialized programs.
• Enter data for monitoring indicators on calls, admissions, and transports.
• Protect patient rights and confidentiality.
• Collaborate as a multidisciplinary team member and attend monthly meetings.
• Handle dissatisfied customers and escalate to leadership when needed.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
