Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital seeks a Transport Coordinator to facilitate medical transport across facilities by dispatching assets or coordinating third-party vendors. The role matches patient clinical needs with the appropriate resource while maintaining patient confidentiality and professional communication with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities include documenting patient information, coordinating transport, responding to calls with urgency, and collaborating with the PLC and hospital

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Prefer experience in healthcare settings or call center/dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Receive medical transportation requests and coordinate transport through third-party vendors and dispatch assets.
• Document patient information and monitor transport progress using technology tools.
• Respond to calls with urgency and provide strong customer service.
• Maintain EMTALA education to prevent risk to facility.
• Collaborate with the Patient Logistics Center and facilities.
• Enter data for monitoring key indicators on calls, admissions, and transports.
• Ensure patient rights and confidentiality.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings.
• Escalate issues to leadership as needed.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
