Job summary

MercyOne Health Ministries is seeking a Patient Logistics Access Specialist to act as the first contact for transfer and admission requests. You will capture demographics, referrals, and operational details to initiate transfers and ensure timely clinical review.

In this role, you will manage multi-line calls, document in EHR, route to clinicians, and support EMTALA-sensitive processes. This is a part-time, on-site position with rotating shifts across 0700–1900.

• Healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

• Serves as first contact for transfer, admission, and consultation requests and routes appropriately.
• Collects and verifies demographic, referral, and operational information to initiate transfer workflows.
• Manages multi-line phone activity to support timely patient transitions.
• Documents call details in electronic health records and transfer systems with accuracy.
• Routes information to the appropriate clinician or team member per protocol.
• Supports EMTALA-sensitive processes with complete intake documentation and escalation when needed.
• Coordinates non-clinical transport logistics and communicates status changes.
