Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking an experienced RN to oversee patient throughput and bed placement decisions. You will collaborate with the care team to ensure the right level of care and timely discharge planning across BH hospitals, acting as the clinical decision maker for daily patient flow.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Nursing, MA RN licensure, and strong critical thinking with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Massachusetts (MA)
• 5+ years of acute care clinical nursing, ED/CC strongly preferred
• Knowledge of community resources and Utilization/Quality Review standards
• Strong critical thinking with ability to prioritize in a fast-changing environment
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

• Facilitate accurate patient placement based on clinical relevance
• Coordinate bed assignments and patient throughput across BH hospitals
• Act as clinical expert for daily throughput decisions
• Communicate with care teams about level of care and discharge plans
• Support transfer requests for specialty services and ensure timely care
