Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily service activities in the Patient Services Center or in-office PST, interacting professionally with clients, patients, and staff, and performing specimen collection following established procedures.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to explain venipuncture, proper handling and labeling of specimens, data entry, and adherence to safety, privacy, and compliance guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred; Louisiana requires it.
• At least 1 year of prior job-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures all phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens and explains venipuncture and other collection procedures to reduce patient anxiety.
• Disposes of biohazard materials per applicable laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions and enters data into PathConnect and other systems.
• Maintains records, logs, and assists with monthly statistics.
