PathGroup in Franklin, TN seeks a dedicated Patient Services Technician to perform routine patient service activities in the PSC or in-office setting, ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing while interacting professionally with clients and colleagues.

The role requires meticulous data entry, adherence to PPE and safety policies, and capable handling of fluctuating patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Explains the venipuncture and specimen collection process in a clear, courteous manner to reduce patient anxiety.
• Disposes of blood or biohazard materials in compliance with laws and policies.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into PathConnect and other systems with high accuracy.
• Matches requisition forms to specimens and processes them (centrifuge, split, freeze) as required.
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains required temperatures.
• Maintains daily records, logs, and monthly statistics; performs electronic data entry.
• Approves time in attendance software by noon Monday after pay period; submits expense and travel logs as directed.
• Adheres to grooming, lab coat, PPE, safety, and compliance policies; maintains a professional work environment.
