Job summary

Intermountain Health Layton Hospital is seeking a compassionate Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first point of contact for patients. You will greet and check-in/out patients, verify demographics, and resolve needs while delivering a superior customer experience.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills with word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy and PHI of patients and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, professional connections with patients by phone, in person, or via secure messaging.
• Document all calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedule patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, or consultations.
• Register patients over phone or in person by verifying and updating demographic data.
• Collect copies of insurance cards and IDs; verify information for insurance coordination of benefits.
• Assist patients with necessary forms for regulatory and billing needs; educate on financial assistance and process payments.
• Stay informed on role responsibilities and clinic updates to maintain high performance.
