Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first point of contact for patients. The role emphasizes courteous, professional connections by phone, in person, or secure messaging while resolving patient needs related to intake and care.

The PSR documents calls in the EMR, schedules visits, and registers patients, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance data. The position requires strong communication, confidentiality, and teamwork with care

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
• Basic computer skills for word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy and PHI.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in/out patients by phone or in person and verify information.
• Document all interactions in the EMR accurately.
• Schedule patient appointments, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Register patients, update demographic data, and manage insurance information and forms.
• Assist with billing tasks, including collecting payments and explaining financial assistance options.
• Stay current with role responsibilities and clinic communications to maintain high performance.
