Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Patient Service Representative to be the first contact for patients and caregivers, ensuring outstanding service and accurate data capture. The role supports check-in/out, insurance verification, and registration while maintaining confidentiality and strong communication across clinics in Billings.

The PSR works full-time at multiple Billings sites, with a focus on accurate data entry, patient education, and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI).

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging, resolving needs for a superior experience.
• Documents all calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, or consultations.
• Registers patients by updating demographic data on the system.
• Obtains insurance cards, IDs, and signatures; verifies COB and pre-authorizations as needed.
• Assists patients in completing forms for regulatory and billing needs; educates on financial assistance and processes payments.
