Job summary

Prism Vision Group is seeking a Patient Service Representative for Schefkind Eye Care in Alexandria, VA. This onsite, non-exempt role supports patient interactions, scheduling, and revenue cycle duties to ensure efficient care delivery.

You will handle registration, insurance verification, and customer service while following HIPAA rules and company policies in a fast-paced eye care environment. Travel to other Prism locations may occur as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in a patient-facing healthcare or customer service role preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete full registration for patients requesting appointments.
• Initiate pre-registration and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance coverage and referral information.
• Collect ID and insurance cards and validate patient identity.
• Adhere to HIPAA standards for privacy and confidentiality.
• Ensure smooth patient flow through the clinical process.
• Provide information on appointments, payments, and policies.
• Offer upfront financial counseling and discuss payment plans.
