Job summary

American Oncology Network is seeking a Patient Services Specialist (Float) to support front-end operations across multiple clinics in the Kansas City area. You will assist with patient intake, scheduling, medical records, and financial transactions while delivering exceptional service.

The role requires at least 1 year in healthcare, strong communication skills, and proficiency with EMR systems; position will float to Belton MO, Kansas City MO, and Kansas City KS locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting; physician office experience preferred.
• Demonstrated customer service focus with strong attention to detail and multitasking ability
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse populations

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and caregivers professionally to create a welcoming, supportive environment.
• Accurately check in patients according to clinic policy and document arrival status in the EMR.
• Verify, update, and maintain patient demographic information.
• Collect, document, and post patient payments and co-pays; issue receipts.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments and coordinate physician schedule changes.
• Maintain physician schedules and resolve scheduling conflicts across sites.
• Create, maintain, and update patient charts in the EMR and billing systems.
• Respond to medical record requests and ensure HIPAA compliance.
