Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Patient Services Specialist 2 to support physician offices and clinics with front-desk operations and patient intake. You will handle check-in/check-out, scheduling and insurance verification, improving patient flow.

In this role you will register patients, verify demographics, process payments, and provide information to patients while coordinating with teams to ensure accurate records and timely care. Training and mentoring junior staff may be required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office.
• Excellent listening, social and written communication skills.
• Professional and respectful telephone etiquette.
• Ability to handle patient payments and insurance verification.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and appointment inquiries.
• Register patients by collecting demographics and insurance information in the system.
• Process payments and post charges; generate daily payment reports.
• Provide information to patients and discuss financial arrangements as needed.
• Respond to routine inquiries about services and hours; handle patient complaints appropriately.
• Assist with medical records duties and mentor junior staff.
