Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Patient Services Specialist 1 to provide administrative support in a physician office, clinic, or similar setting. This role focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care and efficient front-desk operations.

The position involves check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones, with emphasis on accurate data entry and excellent patient relations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient duties including relations, check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones.
• Arranges follow-up visits and referral appointments.
• Assists with patient registration by collecting and verifying insurance information, and entering changes into the system.
• Accepts payments for physician/clinic services according to guidelines; posts payments and records charges.
• Generates daily payment reports and verifies cash drawer against the report.
• Provides accurate patient, medical, financial or procedural information to patients or approved outside entities.
• Receives and directs phone calls; assists patients and visitors; responds to routine inquiries about services and hours.
